The step everybody forgets — and the two ways to do it, which are not the same.
Applies to: Voice plans
Your customers ring the number they already know. Buying a number for your assistant changes nothing until that existing number forwards to it.
You set this up on your own handset, by dialling a short code. We cannot set it for you and cannot see whether it is on — ringing your own line is the only real confirmation.
If your number is with a provider who manages it for you, send them the number shown on that screen and ask for calls to be forwarded to it.
The codes are the phone network’s own, not ours, so they work the same whoever you are with.
The same screen shows the code that cancels it. It takes effect immediately.
You probably used the "only when I cannot answer" code, which is usually what people want. It rings you first and only goes to the assistant if you do not pick up.
